Across the world, many Screen printers know about the OEKO-TEX acredditiaon however many are unsure exactly what the accreditation includes and the benefit of using approved products when selling their printed garments to the end-user.
For over 25 years Oeko-Tex Standard 100 has been researching raw, intermediate and finished textile products for harmful & toxic chemicals. Once tested they certify that the garments pose no risk the buyer’s health, especially important if you are producing children’s clothing. The Eco-Tex passport certification follows a two-step process to determine whether dyes, equipment and other chemicals used in textile production can be classified as safe to use.
Other key benefits that can be used to help market your garments is that you are demonstrating a positive approach to sustainability which helps opens the door into other markets which you may not be involved in. Products that contain the accreditation with STANDARD 100, LEATHER STANDARD and ECO PASSPORT is recognised internationally as a pre-certification which will save on expensive lab costs!
