Since we have been in lockdown we have seen a huge amount of interest and orders of ROQ YOU presses in the UK. Lots of screen printers have a manual press have found they are ready to increase sales and output however, one of the main questions we get asked is this the right decision for us?
The team at Matrix have been thinking about how we best help answer these sorts of questions and I suppose the main answer is how long is the investment going to take to pay for itself. If you have a manual 6 colour it will give you an average of 30 units per hour – some may argue that figure may be over the top and some may say it’s too little but let’s go with it for the purpose of the article.
A ROQ YOU P10 with 7 heads has an approx cost of €37,000 (£33,636) depending on the spec you choose. This is a popular configuration as it will allow you to print, flash and print the rest of the colours on top. Using two operators the output should be around 500 units per hour depending on the job. If you sell a shirt with 2 colour print single to the end-user for £7 and its costing you around £3 then the mark up is around £4. Then to buy a press you’d need to print around 8,400 garments, seems a lot however that’s only 16 full hours of printing!
Our team can help you with your ROI and how to increase your grow your output. If you are new to screen printing then you will need more than just the press – our team can help you walk through the process from start to finish.
